Ian Westbrook - Scenic Designer

Ian trained at Nottingham Trent University. For the Lord Delfont Group Ian designed the Lenny Henry, Cannon & Ball and Dick Emery shows. After seasons at Nottingham Playhouse, Leicester and Theatre Royal Plymouth, Ian became Set Designer/ Artist with the Theatre Royal Norwich and Cromer Pavilion’s Seaside Special summer shows.

Since 1985 his scenery and prop construction company 3D Creations in Norfolk have created well over four hundred and fifty operas, musicals, plays and events that include Sir Peter Hall’s ‘Blythe Spirit’ at London’s Savoy Theatre. Michael Flatley’s “Feet of Flames” world tour. “Evita” and “Chicago” in Lebanon’s amphitheatre. Special fire effects for Chichester Festival and Birmingham Stage Company. The Broadway musical “See Saw” by Cy Colman & Dorothy Fields. Designs for American illusionist, David Blaine.
Rock and Pop music Arenas tours for Iron Maiden, (5 world tours) Robbie Williams, Pete Waterman, West Life, Blur, The Spice Girls, Peter Gabriel, and Thomas the Tank Engine. Disney (TV) Corporation. Sony Media and five Royal commissions for HM. Queen Elizabeth II at the Sandringham museum. The UK tours & London’s West End productions of “Proof”,-“The Horrible Histories” - “Treasure Island” for Birmingham Stage Co. Ian’s stage designs hang at The Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Location work for Pirate’s in the Caribbean. He is Associate Designer for “All the Fun of the Fair” by Jon Conway, starring David Essex. For Qdos Entertainments, at the Alhambra Theatre Bradford Ian has designed new productions of “Peter Pan” “Cinderella” and is working on Aladdin at the O2 London Arena and Sleeping Beauty for Birmingham Hippodrome.
