Prop Making: –“Creating things that look real” - but are in fact fakes !

Our props are so varied it’s impossible to list them, we specialise in the bizarre and unusual but are very happy to create antique furniture, replicas or sculptures that look like stone, wood or metal or anything you like. We can explode them, burn or burry them, make them fly or sink and swim.

Work Examples

An Example of our custom made furniture for Sir Peter Hall's Theatre Company Time and the Conway's at London's Savoy theatre starring Peneloply Keith.
Special cushioning was built in to help Peneloply Keith, who was wearing tight corsets to sit upright and when she had to get out of the chairs.

Horrible Histories Tour
Birmingham Stage Company's National theatre tour of the Horrible Egyptians and Romans. We designed, manufactured and engineered this 7 ft high Mummy case which had actors hiding inside. We also produced many of the detailed props and body parts for the embalming scenes.

Bentley Rhythm Ace, Blur Burgers, and Iron Maiden's Eddie. These large scale props and set dressings were designed and manufactured by us. The golf cart for pop group Bentley Rhythm Ace was great fun driving around our workshop, The burger was left over from the Blur Wembley tour. These Blur Burgers were flown from the grid and lit up inside.

Spice Girls - Work in Progress
This was the last Spice Girls gig they did (before reforming!) which featured our giant 'Spiceicle' It was carved from polystyrene and then moulded in clear fire retardant fibreglass. Moving lights were set inside a ring of truss-work and suspended over the girls at Earls Court Arena for the Christmas Spice World gig.

The BBC Radio One, digital launch of "One Nation" could be seen on the streets of London. We had to blend and match the broken base of each of our
No.1 props to the location pavement or road. The effect was as if these 12 ft high number 1s had dropped from the sky and crashed into the ground.

MAXVIEW Controls required us to build an exact replica of their TV remote but 20 times larger. We made this from fibreglass, metals and resins. The buttons were sprung loaded and cushioned to give the feel of the real thing.

This Giant Lobster was made by scaling up a live Lobster which we kept in a large fish tank in our workshops. Every small detail was re-creatated by enlarging by five times the original lobster. We made the claws snap and the creature rotated around on a turntable as the eyes lit up. The finished size was around 5 ft long.

More props and large scale model making for Iron Maiden World Arena Tour

A 10 ft high fibreglass section of Stone Henge with the Company 3D graphic logo carved into the surface of the stone. This was used at Drytec‘s large exhibition sites around the world.
